In October, we’re serving up the exotic flavours of the Ottoman Empire
It‘s like having three continents on a single plate. The Ottoman Empire brings to mind a sense of mysterious, faraway lands – and yet it was very much a part of Europe too. In the third week of October, our Gastro Calendar brings together a fragrant fusion of European, African and Middle Eastern cuisines.
On the menu, you’ll find spiced chickpea hummus with roasted beetroot, glazed carrots and grilled sweet potatoes – all drizzled with a touch of coriander oil. Fancy something slightly more oriental? Try grilled chicken thigh steak marinated in lime, turmeric, cinnamon and parsley, served with authentic Lebanese tabbouleh.
